  • Same-day attendance for emergencies

What counts as an emergency

If water is escaping and you cannot stop it, or the problem puts the property or anyone in it at risk, treat it as urgent. Typical urgent calls include:

  • A burst or split pipe, inside the property or on the roof
  • Water coming through a ceiling, light fitting or wall
  • A water heater or solar tank leaking heavily
  • No water at all, or no hot water in a home with young children or elderly residents
  • A toilet or drain overflowing when there is no other toilet in the property

Winter storms, sudden pressure changes and old fittings that have been scaling up for years are the usual triggers. Summer brings its own problems, with overheated solar tanks and pressure pumps running at their hardest.

What to do right now

While you call us, take these steps if it is safe to do so:

  • Close the main stopcock or the valve at the water meter
  • If the leak is on the hot side, also close the cold feed to the water heater or solar tank
  • Switch off the electricity to the water heater and to any area where water is near sockets or lights
  • Open a cold tap at the lowest point of the house to drain the pipes
  • Move valuables and furniture away from the water and take photos

If you are not sure where your valves are, call or WhatsApp us and we will talk you through it.

How we handle an urgent call

Send a photo or short video on WhatsApp if you can. We tell you what to do straight away, help you shut off the water if needed and give you a clear arrival time. On site, the first job is to make the situation safe and stop the water. We then repair the fault or, if a full repair needs parts or more time, make a safe temporary repair and agree the next step with you before we leave.

Outside working hours

Our working hours are Monday to Saturday, 07:30 to 19:00, and urgent calls are answered every day. If you contact us outside those hours, we will help you make the property safe over the phone and arrange a visit as soon as possible.

Frequently asked questions

What should I do first if a pipe bursts?

Close the main stopcock or the valve at the water meter straight away, switch off the electricity to any wet areas and open a cold tap to drain the pipes. Then call or WhatsApp us. If you cannot find the valve, we will guide you over the phone while you look for it.

Do you answer urgent calls at the weekend?

Urgent calls are answered every day. Our regular working hours are Monday to Saturday, 07:30 to 19:00. If you contact us outside those hours, we will advise you on making things safe and arrange a visit as soon as we can, with same-day attendance for genuine emergencies.

Will you fix the problem on the first visit?

On an urgent call, our first aim is to stop the water and make the property safe. Often the fault can be repaired there and then. Where a part has to be ordered or a larger job is involved, we make a safe temporary repair and agree the permanent fix and its timing with you before we leave.

Why should I send a photo on WhatsApp?

A photo or short video of the leak, the valve or the water heater often tells us what has failed before we arrive. That means we can give you the right advice straight away, bring the parts most likely to be needed and spend less time on site working out the problem.

Need this job done?

Call us or send a photo on WhatsApp. One photo is usually enough for us to see the problem and tell you what the repair involves.
